I usually find Monday papers annoying; thin, ad-laden, devoid of much news I’ve not already seen on-line. As usual, today I got what I expected, and much less than I wanted.
Fine. Great. Less to read, saved time; less thinking required, more time for other thoughts.
Good, right? Less is more. Right?
Less is more - love this phrase when it comes to political speeches, fatty foods and women’s make-up. More and more, I like more and more of some things. More and more, I want less and less.
Most things I once wanted I’ve lost or used up or left or shed along my way. I want more sleep, time, money, opportunity. I want less anticipation and more gratification, less criticism and more suggestions.
Let’s face it, more is more – not less.
I want less clutter. More clarity. Want ideas and direction – no need to load me with facts, files and fluff. Want more understanding, fewer experience opportunities that knock me on my ass; want feelings of wholeness, completeness that come when I spend time with - communicate with - people who matter to me.
I read an article on e-mail brevity. It was too long.
Started this one, long.
Now it’s not.

Seventeen weeks ago I published my first short story; 1/3rd of a year on, I am having a blast. Writing fiction turned out to be much more fun han I imagined. None of the stories actually happened to me, but elements of each story, character or situation contains experiences I have known. Stay-with-it and advice from story 1 to story 17 has been the assistance, editing, feedback from WE, MD, SB and CJ . . many thanks for your ongoing and highly valued help and guidance..

July 10 - THOUGHTS BEFORE BREAKFAST
Mark - Thanks for the link to "Because of You" - lovely version! About ten years ago I saw Tony Bennett at Tanglewood. What a highlight that was. I enjoyed your today's musing especially - it grabbed me. The last line made me stop. I know I owe you a phone call; I'm so behind, WE, Alford, MA
