NO WEAK ENDING

Friday Sept. 30, 2011

this column written and published from my residence in Cranston (SE Calgary) near the Bow River valley

Morning walk:  7C/45F, early sun painted clouds above lagoon’s mirroring surface like no photograph can; Gusta unlocked her hind legs for a  long romp, bouncing through tall grass was the only sound breaking silence, aside from my huffing and puffing to keep up with her.

I drafted a letter this morning.

To someone from my past; to say important things., set records straight, point out things.  I realized it was simply venting – which, I suppose, I needed to do.

I had.

Then I deleted it and got on with my morning tasks – as I can, should and must do.

It seems both funny (because I probably sound silly admitting it) and a turning point/learning point . . . perhaps this is a good way to end the week.

Challenging as any week, in terms of work load, obligations and time spent –there is light-er-ness in my step.  Not floating, not soaring, but lighter.

No less weight on shoulders, but inspired-lighter-quicker.  Week ends, weekend arrives, I usually have difficulty holding up my weak end,  but not today, not this week, not this time.

Adventures, ventures and adventurousness are similar words with such divergent meaning.  Response, responding and responsiveness . . . say thing.

So, how do I explain a mood, feeling, attitude and trajectory that is new?

I’ve rid myself of a few stressors, added a few, rearranged the rest.  Not like rearranging deck-chairs on ship lost at sea, I have a better vs. smaller view; a forward view, an upward view and the point of view that changed.  I’ve got plenty to be sad about, but no time for sadness. I’ve got plenty to be mad about, but no longer have time for madness (in either sense of that word).

HOW WE JUDGE THIS

It seems like congratulations are in order, I wish you a successful term in whatever endeavor your are involved. Now, I'm the one with the curiosity, what is a scholar like you doing in a beach in Maui?  Greetings from 90 degrees Playa del Carmen, AG, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Woo hoo you! Hope things continue to fall into the picture of success and happy trails! I was taking a break with a ginormous peach..sweet as ever I have tasted..juice running freely into a napkin..opened you words sweet as the peach! Have a stupendously fulfilling day...Glad am I you found your rudder fly with it!, SJ, Evanston, WY
